Horny Sax

Posted at: 11:06:25 on Sunday, 28 August 2005

Yesterday (Saturday) I collaborated with our friend Jo (aka Sherlock), who's quite knowledgeable and talented with music ... (from Australia, she teaches music lessons out of her home...)

Anyhow, we'd been talking about trying a song project together for months, and finally got a chance to work on one yesterday. We'll definitely be trying it again! This song we made is pretty good I think -- it came out well, considering, and has an interesting blend of both styles (myself with the catchy beats and such, and her with more of a Jazz influence).

It's more of a dancy Jazz kind of a song (we really weren't sure just how to classify it). It’s definitely got more melodic components than my previous work (Thanks Jo!)...

We couldn’t think of a name for it at the end... I think we were just tapped out by then. We tossed a few lame ones around and then asked Holly. After listening to it, she eventually tossed out the present title, which Jo jumped on, and I thought was both cheeky and clever because of both what you first think of, and then because there are in fact French Horns and Saxophones used as the core melodies...

The song is called “Horny Sax and is a joint project by Sherlock & Saturn. You can download it here and have a listen – we’d be very interested in any feedback we get on this. Please feel free to comment openly and honestly on the blog here.

The song is premiering on Titanium Radio tonight (Sunday) during Saturn’s House Party, which starts (as usual) 6pm PST, 9pm EST.

Nice download speeds, to starts.. *waits for download to finish *headphones + VOLMAX *listens *comments ----------------------------------- I can definitly notice the jazz influence, in the beginning i don't really like it, but that's because there is no techno at all and is all jazz, not a fan of jazz. Yet, after you mix the fast beats in with the jazz, it sounds great, a total turn around form your normal stuff and a nice spin on things. No offense, but you old songs are starting to seem all alike and mizing together :P you said be honest :D. Anyways, 7/10 ;)
